About the Role:
Leads a team of software engineers responsible for custom application development for Columbia Bank customers and associates. Provides technical leadership and direction on engineering best practices. Ensures proficiency and continuity of staff through training, development opportunities, and annual performance reviews. Partners with business and technology stakeholders to align on priorities. Leads continuous process improvement activities for the development team.
  • Responsible for coaching and developing a team of software engineers.
  • Drive engineering best practices across all current and new software development projects.
  • Responsible for resource management, including frequent performance feedback and annual performance review.
  • Coordinate with business and technology stakeholders to help identify and prioritize needs and to ensure resource needs are met.
  • Facilitate communication within the team and with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Develop high-performing development team through recruitment, retention and training opportunities
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement. Assist with removing roadblocks and empowering the team to deliver best work.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent work experienced
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in software development. Required
  • 4-7 years of experience in leadership/management role with responsibility of hiring and performance management. Required
  • Experience in all facets of the SDLC for software development projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the organization to align on priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack; web and mobile development; web services design and implementation; HTML5; CSS3; JavaScript frameworks (Ember/NodeJS).
  • Demonstrated experience with building and developing high-performance teams.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/ScrumBan).
  • Experience leading software developers through design and development of custom applications.

The pay range for this role is $128,311.44 - $165,000.00.
The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
