Position Summary

The Application Configuration Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, support, and optimization of the IBM FileNet content management platform. This role ensures the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of enterprise content repositories while supporting business users, IT partners, and regulatory requirements. The right candidate will serve as a key technical resource for maintaining system stability, enabling process automation, and supporting records and information governance.


Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain IBM FileNet Content Manager and IBM Enterprise Records (IER), including Object Stores, Content Engine (CPE), Content Navigator (ICN), and related supporting components, with limited Process Engine use required for IER functionality.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and storage capacity; proactively identify and remediate issues.
  • Plan, execute, and support upgrades, patching, backups, and restores for FileNet applications and supporting components, including CPE, ICN, and records-related services.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution for FileNet environments.
  • Configure and manage FileNet security, roles, permissions, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise records management, retention, and legal hold policies.
  • Support audits (e.g., SOX, regulatory, internal) by providing system documentation, evidence, and access reviews.
  • Partner with Records Management, Legal, and Compliance teams to align FileNet configurations with governance requirements.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for FileNet-related incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot content access, workflow, ingestion, and performance issues.
  • Assist business users and application teams with document management, workflows, and metadata design.
  • Support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer for FileNet users and administrators.
  • Support integrations between FileNet and other enterprise systems (e.g., ServiceNow, SAP, SharePoint, custom applications).
  • Collaborate with automation and development teams for document ingestion and process optimization.
  • Participate in solution design reviews to ensure FileNet best practices are followed.
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, usability, security, and automation capabilities.
  • Stay current on FileNet product updates, industry trends, and content management best practices.
  • Lead and coordinate FileNet platform upgrades and application deployments, working with infrastructure, database, and dependency teams as needed.
  • Administer and support WebSphere Application Server environments hosting FileNet applications, including application deployments, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting related to FileNet and Records services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience administering IBM FileNet Content Manager or similar enterprise content management platforms.
  • Experience supporting production systems in a large, enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM FileNet components (Content Engine, IBM Enterprise Records, Object Stores, workflows, security model).
  • Experience administering WebSphere Application Server environments supporting IBM FileNet applications.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) as they relate to ECM platforms.
  • Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability concepts.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or basic troubleshooting of integrations is a plus. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with records management, retention schedules, and legal holds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with regulated industries (utilities, financial services, healthcare).
  • IBM FileNet certifications or ECM-related certifications.
  • Experience supporting related IBM Content Manager (CM8), eDiscovery Manager, or ICC4SAP systems.
