Job description

TSFR Applebee's host/hostess primary responsibility is to Delight our Guests by greeting arriving and acknowledging departing guests as well as seating them in a friendly manner, and assisting with maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant. In doing this, the host/hostess will maximize the dining room space and server effectiveness. The host fosters a culture aligned with the TSFR Roadmap, including Our Core Purpose, Vision, Mission and Core Values.
Essential Job Functions
Primary Duties:
โ€ข Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests
โ€ข Seat guests according to the established plan and guests' needs
โ€ข Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean
โ€ข Ensure menu's remain clean and stocked
โ€ข Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed
โ€ข Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table
โ€ข Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room
โ€ข Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM
Educational / Experience
โ€ข Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM
โ€ข Friendly and outgoing personality
โ€ข Follow appropriate food safety guidelines
โ€ข Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
โ€ข Able to stand for long periods of time
โ€ข Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat
โ€ข Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen
Physical and Mental Requirements
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
