Job description

Do you love creating elegant solutions to highly complex challenges? Do you intrinsically see the importance in every detail? As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you'll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Joining this group means you'll be responsible for crafting and building the technology that fuels Apple's devices. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices.
As a member of the Silicon Validation Hardware team you'll be critical to enabling the next generation of incredible Apple products. This position involves a wide range of activities including high-speed board designs that push the limits of technology, designing and implementing test and characterization circuits in the lab, and debugging complicated system level problems. You'll work closely with designers from many groups within Apple and be a key contributor to the silicon engineering effort.
Description
. Developing specifications based on requirements from cross-functional teams
• Schematic capture, circuit design, definition of layout and routing constraints, design review and simulation
• FPGA and CPLD development
• Board bring-up, testing and characterization, and debug
• Power and signal integrity analysis
• High-speed interface design and characterization
• Debug a wide range of issues on test boards and production systems
Minimum Qualifications
BS in EBS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related degree program with 10 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with schematic level board design
Understanding board bringup and debug strategies
Strong fundamentals in EE concepts; transistor operation, signal integrity and transmission lines, timing analysis, digital logic
RTL experience using Verilog or VHDL. Preferably FPGA design experience
Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment including scopes, logic and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, eLoads and protocol analyzers.
Test automation expertise using Perl/Tcl/Python.
