Description

SAIC is seeking an Apple Systems Specialist to provide VIP-level IT support to Gov't executives; this position is based out of Quantico, VA.  (All qualified candidates must possess a TS/SCI and a Sec+ certification)

Introduction

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).  The Air Force, Space & Intel Business Group (AFSI) of SAIC is seeking an Apple Systems Specialist to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA. 

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies. 

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secure and adaptable IT infrastructure, provide customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Apple systems specialist to provide VIP-level IT support to government executives and senior leadership for macOS and Apple technology. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving Apple hardware and software environments while integrating seamlessly within high-security government operations. The ideal candidate will combine their ability to support Apple devices—such as MacBooks, iMacs, iPads, and iPhones—with a customer-centric and professional approach aligned with executive-level expectations.  

This role requires a polished problem-solver with extensive knowledge of Apple products, secure IT environments, and the ability to respond efficiently and discreetly to high-level operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive "White-Glove" Support: Deliver rapid-response, high-touch technical assistance for DoW leadership. Anticipate technical needs, ensure zero-downtime for mission-critical communications, and provide seamless IT experiences during travel or high-stakes briefings.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, such as performance optimization, application errors, or operating system bugs, while maintaining compliance with government security protocols.  
  • Apple Systems Engineering & MDM: Configure, deploy, and manage macOS devices using Enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (e.g., Jamf Pro, VMware Workspace ONE) customized for military networks.
  • Cybersecurity & STIG Compliance: Apply, validate, and maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across all Apple hardware and software. Ensure strict adherence to DoW IL5 security protocols and data handling policies.
  • Serve as a dedicated technical advisor for leadership, ensuring discreet and timely IT issue resolution.
  • Deliver patient, professional, and polished customer service in every interaction.  
  • Provide training and mentorship on best practices and new Apple platform capabilities tailored to the strategic needs of each executive customer.  
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Apple products in secure and hybrid operating environments, including classified and air-gapped networks, while adhering to security protocols.  
  • Act as the subject-matter expert (SME) for macOS technologies within the broader IT team. 

Qualifications

It is required that the Apple Systems Specialist have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Five (5) or relevant years of experience in lieu of degre
  • (3) years specializing in macOS and iOS device support. 
  • US Citizen and Current TS/SCI clearance 
  • Expertise in macOS, iOS, and Apple ecosystem workflows and technologies (e.g., Apple ID, iCloud, FileVault, keychain management).  
  • Familiarity with Apple MDM platforms (e.g., Jamf Pro, JAMF Connect) and zero-touch deployment/enrollment protocols.  
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for Apple hardware and software, including macOS kernel issues, file system encryption, and application errors.  
  • Strong familiarity integrating macOS into enterprise IT landscapes, including Active Directory, Office 365, and VPN configurations.  
  • Experience deploying Apple Security and Patch Management (T2/M1/M2 chips) in classified and air-gapped environments.  
  • Knowledge of networking, storage, and remote connectivity solutions as relevant to macOS environments.   
  • Superior verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism when supporting high-profile individuals with urgent IT needs.  
  • Detail-oriented and excellent problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.  
  • Capable of working independently or within a cross-functional team in a high-pressure environment.   
  • Certifications: ACSP / ACTC (Apple Certified Support Professional / Apple Certified Technical Coordinator), Jamf 200+ certification, ITIL Foundations, CompTIA Security+/CASP+, or equivalent.  
  • Demonstrated experience supporting classified IT environments with strong knowledge of NSA, DoD, or related agency security and compliance requirements.  
  • Proficiency with terminal commands, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and automation in a macOS context.  
  • This position requires on-site support at [specific location], with very limited capacity for remote work. Candidates must be comfortable working in high-security environments with sensitive information.
  • Flexibility for urgent after-hours support may be required.
