Job description

Overview

The Drug Information Fellowship position at Touro College of Pharmacy in New York is a 12-month program designed to prepare the pharmacy professional who is interested in a career in drug information or medical information. The drug information fellow will based in our academic drug information center, with an opportunity to collaborate on projects with TCOP partner organizations. Throughout the program, the fellow will develop into a drug information specialist, acquiring advanced skills in medical information and drug information across various practice settings. The program also includes opportunities for experience in pharmacy education and academia through teaching and precepting student pharmacists at the college. This is a limited term position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the drug information center operations under the guidance of the fellowship director
  • Respond to drug information inquiries from internal and external healthcare professionals
  • Deliver didactic lectures in the drug information course- Precept pharmacy students on APPE rotation
  • Complete a research project related to the practice of drug information for publication
  • Submit a poster presentation to national pharmacy conference(s)
  • Participate in the college's committees, a teaching certificate program, and a leadership certificate program
QualificationsEducation/Experience
  • Doctor of Pharmacy required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree must be from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required
  • A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion are required.
Certifications/Licensures
  • Licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of New York
  • Individuals who have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency or PGY2 specialty residency who are interested in pursuing a career in drug information/medical information are preferred.
  • Applicants without a PGY-1 residency will be interviewed based on their academic performance/experience and all official college transcripts
