Job description

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. Teach courses in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, particularly in the residential Fashion Design program.Teaching responsibilities may include: Design and construction, Textiles, Fashion Illustration Skills, Draping for Apparel Design, Merchandising, and Flat Pattern for Apparel Design. Responsible for class lectures and grading assignments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to Family and Consumer Sciences Dept. Chair.

  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.

  • Strong organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALSEducation and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters with 18 graduate hours in the Fashion Design discipline or related areas.

All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to Liberty University's evangelical Christian purpose, as well as full adherence to its evangelical mission and doctrine. Also of importance are organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
