Description
The College of Wooster is seeking its next Registrar at a particularly exciting time as the College begins implementation of the recently endorsed strategic plan. The Registrar will collaborate with faculty in the development of new curricular pathways and support innovative curricular offerings such as experiential and cross-departmental learning opportunities. The Registrar will also serve as a key partner with faculty and staff across the College in ongoing efforts to ensure student retention. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (21% domestic students of color and 15% international students): the Registrar will play an important role in the College's commitment to diversity and inclusion, global education, and internationalization.
Reporting directly to the Provost, the Registrar provides leadership for maintaining integrity in student records and partners with the Educational Policy Committee to oversee the development and implementation of the educational policies of the College, including the curriculum. The Registrar engages collaboratively with faculty and staff to evaluate and implement systems of student data management and is responsible for the following central functions of the Registrar's office:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintains the integrity of student academic records and The College of Wooster degree
  2. Ensures compliance with federal regulations (i.e. VA, NSC, NSLDS, FERPA and other regulations pertaining to enrollment and awarding of degrees)
  3. Oversees the release of transcripts and diplomas
  4. Collaborates with administrators and faculty on the production of the Schedule of Classes and classroom assignments
  5. Oversees the transfer and study abroad credit evaluation process
  6. Works with IT to manage the testing, enhancements and maintenance of student records in the student information system, the online catalogue, and the document imaging software for internal or external audiences
  7. Administers Veteran's Educational Assistance Program
  8. Oversees the certification of enrollment and degrees awarded via the National Student Clearinghouse for all students
  9. Advises faculty, staff and students on academic policies and procedures
  10. Collaborates with the Dean for Curriculum and Academic Engagement to manage student enrollment and academic status
  11. Develops the Final Exam Schedule
  12. Oversees the Apostille notarization process
  13. Oversees and maintains effective grading records and procedures
  14. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned
  15. Supervises staff and student workers
  16. Participates in ceremonial recognition of students submitting their senior independent study projects

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Minimum of a Master's Degree
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar's office
  • Professional knowledge of and demonstrated experience in managing and implementing the practices and policies associated with the responsibilities of an Office of the Registrar
  • Fluent in the use and understanding of information technology
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion within the higher education context
  • Experience with some of the following systems currently in use at the College of Wooster: Ellucian Colleague, Perceptive Content, Acalog
