Job description

This position will cover two multifamily properties in Rapid City. These apartment complexes offer affordable living to families and individuals in the community. You will work closely with onsite Maintenance Technicians and Property Managers to ensure our buildings and grounds meet high standards of care. This full-time position is flexible and is great for someone who enjoys supporting a community and working with a team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily janitorial and cleaning duties in common areas including foyers, hallways, elevators, laundry rooms, restrooms, community spaces, and ceiling vents.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and sanitize surfaces as needed.
  • Remove trash and recycling; maintain clean and odor-free dumpster/trash areas.
  • Clean grounds to ensure property is free from trash
  • Clean windows, entry doors, glass surfaces, and high-traffic touchpoints regularly.
  • Help maintenance staff with unit turns and clean outs as needed.
  • Complete minor repairs such as changing light fixtures or unclogging drains.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and seasonal tasks.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request orders when needed.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or deficiencies to management promptly.
  • Support maintenance staff and cooperate with onsite team members.
  • Follow all safety, health, and sanitation procedures.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, safety practices, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate standard cleaning/maintenance equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.
