AP Manager - Chevy Chase, MD
Beacon Hill is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high-volume Accounts Payable function for a well-established organization. This role will oversee daily AP operations, manage and develop staff, drive process improvements, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and expense reimbursements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable staff while ensuring accuracy, productivity, and timely completion of work
  • Review and enhance AP policies, procedures, internal controls, and workflows
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency initiatives
  • Prepare management reports, analyses, and departmental performance metrics
  • Support month-end close, year-end close, audit requests, and financial reporting activities
  • Manage vendor maintenance, 1099 reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary Accounts Payable resource for Workday Financials testing, troubleshooting, process improvements, and user support
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT teams on system upgrades, enhancements, and ERP-related initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable management experience
  • Experience supervising teams of 8 or more employees
  • Hands-on Workday Financials experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
  • Experience with ACH payments, wire transfers, vendor management, and 1099 reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP implementations, conversions, or upgrades is highly preferred
