Job description

Position Title: AP Consultant
About: Join a sophisticated investment management firm where your AP expertise will directly support a complex, multi-entity financial operation. As an Accounts Payable Consultant, you'll manage the day-to-day AP function, including invoice processing, vendor management, employee expenses, reconciliations, month-end support, and issue resolution. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who takes ownership, works well independently, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment!
Salary: $20-$35/ Hour DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Process and code 200-300 complex invoices per month across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate allocations, proper approvals, and timely payments
  • Manage multi-entity AP activity, including complex fund allocations requiring coordination with portfolio managers, finance teams, and public fund teams
  • Maintain vendor records, resolve invoice and payment discrepancies, and serve as a reliable point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies, reconciling receipts and approvals with accuracy
  • Support month-end close activities and assist with AP-related reconciliations and reporting
  • Research and independently resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies with a follow-through, get-it-done mindset
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to obtain approvals, troubleshoot issues, and address AP-related questions

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or related financial experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, complex invoices across multiple entities or business units
  • Excellent attention to detail - number accuracy is non-negotiable in this role
  • Strong communicator with the confidence to push back, ask the right questions, and follow through independently
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities without dropping the ball
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required - experience speaks louder
