Job description

Bishop Foley Catholic High School in Madison Heights, Michigan is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated Theology teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. Our ideal teacher has strength in the areas of Ecclesiology, Scripture, and Catholic Social Teaching. The start date for this position is August 10, 2026, with additional meetings and support given for planning and development during the summer. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Theology (or equivalent) and a valid AOD Catechesis Certification (or in-process).
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Theology (or equivalent)
  • Valid AOD Catechesis Certification (or in-process)
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons on Theological topics for high school students
  • Knowledge of the standards of Theology teaching according to the USCCB
  • Strong classroom management skills, with a desire to create an environment that fosters growth and opportunity for students

Once a candidate is selected and an offer accepted, the Theology Department will assist in summer planning, preparation and standards for all courses.
All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. Prior to beginning work, all AOD Staff must attend Protecting God's Children, and complete a background check/fingerprinting.
Salary to commensurate with experience based on Archdiocesan Teacher Salary Scale. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, with a family tuition discount phased in over three years.
