Anvils are essential tools in blacksmith workshops, enabling craftsmen to manipulate heated metal into desired shapes. They typically feature a flat top surface, a rounded horn for shaping, and various holes for specialized tools. Modern anvils may also be found in jewelry making and other crafts that require precise metalworking.
