What does an antepartum RN do?

Antepartum RNs primarily care for pregnant patients experiencing complications before delivery, which includes conducting frequent maternal and fetal assessments, monitoring vital signs, and administering prescribed medications. They collaborate closely with physicians, perinatologists, and other healthcare professionals to promptly respond to changes in patients' conditions. Documentation, patient education about high-risk pregnancy management, and providing emotional support are also key parts of the role.
