Join a fast-paced engineering team supporting vehicle and product system design, development, and validation. This role is ideal for a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Creo, ANSYS/FEA, GD&T, structures, and full vehicle integration. The ideal candidate brings strong CAD design, analytical problem-solving, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills in an automotive, aerospace, or advanced vehicle environment.

This opportunity offers exposure to system-level design, packaging, test development, manufacturing support, and customer issue resolution, making it highly attractive to engineers who enjoy working across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop vehicle systems, structural components, and mechanical assemblies
  • Create 3D parametric CAD models and component packaging layouts using Creo
  • Perform linear static FEA using ANSYS to optimize design performance and structural integrity
  • Generate technical drawings, detailing packages, and GD&T documentation per ASME Y14.5
  • Develop and execute DVP&R test plans, validation methods, and reporting
  • Support system physics modeling, characterization, and design verification
  • Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and project status updates
  • Support prototype builds, technicians, and shop teams during development activities
  • Resolve engineering issues through mechanical analysis, CAE, and structured problem-solving
  • Respond to ECRs, manufacturing questions, and product improvement requests
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, validation, program management, and customer teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of engineering design experience
  • Strong background in vehicle systems or product design
  • Experience with full vehicle architecture and system interaction
  • Proficiency in Creo CAD
  • Experience with ANSYS or equivalent FEA tools
  • Hands-on knowledge of Windchill PLM
  • Strong skills in:
    • GD&T / ASME Y14.5
    • Drawing release and detailing
    • Sheet metal design
    • Structural component design
    • Design for manufacturability
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
