Ansible Automation Engineer Jobs in Raleigh, NC (NOW HIRING)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Raleigh, NC that is seeking an experienced Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise automation solutions across complex infrastructure environments. This role will partner with platform engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities, define automation roadmaps, and deliver scalable workflows that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and service reliability.
Responsibilities:
* Facilitate use case and user story workshops to define automation roadmaps and sprint plans
* Design and develop automation solutions using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
* Automate server decommissioning, vulnerability remediation, compliance enforcement, and configuration drift management
* Develop failover and failback automation for IBM Storage Scale environments
* Create self-service workflows, surveys, and approval processes within AAP
* Configure and maintain AAP execution environments, inventories, RBAC, and workflow orchestration
* Develop automation for RHEL patching, Red Hat Satellite updates, snapshot management, and change management processes
* Integrate AAP with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, BMC APIs, Splunk, CMDBs, and infrastructure tools
* Build workflows utilizing conditional logic, approvals, notifications, and automated reporting
* Review and document IBM Storage Scale architecture, disaster recovery processes, permissions models, and operational procedures
* Define security controls, governance standards, automation guardrails, and self-service processes
* Partner with technical stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and supportable automation solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Automation, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering
* Hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
* Strong experience with Ansible playbooks, workflow orchestration, and infrastructure automation
* Experience with RHEL, REST APIs, and enterprise systems integration
* Experience integrating with ServiceNow, BMC, or similar ITSM platforms
* Strong understanding of patching, compliance, security, and change management processes
* Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation skills
Preferred:
* Experience with IBM Storage Scale (GPFS)
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite
* Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and compliance remediation
* Experience with Splunk and enterprise monitoring platforms
* Experience designing enterprise self-service automation solutions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
