Industrial Designer
Department: New Product Development Location: Saint Louis Reports To: Manager of Product and Design
Position Summary
Anova Furnishings is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven Industrial Designer to help shape the future of our product portfolio. This role will focus on designing scalable, market-driven site furnishing products that strengthen Anova's position across priority vertical markets while improving customer experience, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
The Industrial Designer will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and leadership teams to bring innovative concepts from ideation through production. The ideal candidate combines strong aesthetic sensibilities with practical design-for-manufacturing expertise and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Outcomes and Responsibilities
Product Design
  • Develop innovative and scalable product concepts aligned with Anova's strategic growth initiatives.
  • Design aesthetically compelling and functional site furnishing solutions that improve customer experience and ease of specification and installation.
  • Create sketches, renderings, prototypes, and parametric 3D models to communicate design intent.
  • Conduct research into market trends, customer needs, and competitive products to inform design decisions.

Product Development
  • Support a disciplined cross-functional product development process from concept through launch.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize designs for production efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Participate in prototype reviews, testing, and design iterations.
  • Assist in reducing product development cycle times through organized workflows and effective communication.

Visualization & Storytelling
  • Produce high-quality renderings, presentations, and visual assets to support product launches and marketing initiatives.
  • Help develop compelling narratives around new products and concepts.
  • Support website, sales, and specification channels with accurate and engaging product visuals and collateral.

Manufacturing & Operational Support
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing principles throughout the development process.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, installation resources, packaging concepts, and support materials.
  • Work directly with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and improve product designs.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify production and eliminate waste.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related field.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel 2-4 times per year.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of industrial design or product development experience.
  • Experience with site furnishings or product manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Cloud, and digital sketching tools such as Procreate.
  • Experience with 3D rendering and 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as Monday.com, ClickUp, or HubSpot.
  • Experience working under Scrum or agile development principles.
  • Understanding of Salesforce, Teams, and Zoom.
  • Experience conducting Voice of Customer (VOC) research directly with customers.
