Job description

The Insurance & Annuity Product Governance Analyst supports the oversight and administration of Stifel’s insurance and annuity product platform. This role assists with product governance, regulatory implementation, carrier coordination, and operational processes to ensure insurance and annuity products are managed in accordance with firm standards and regulatory requirements. The position works closely with internal partners—including Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Order Entry—as well as external insurance and annuity carriers. The Analyst will work alongside an experienced team member to learn the firm’s insurance and annuity governance framework, carrier relationships, and regulatory processes, with increasing responsibility assumed over time.


• Assist with the review of carrier and vendor selling agreements from a business perspective and support coordination of legal review with Stifel’s Legal department and carrier legal teams.
• Support the implementation of new or revised industry regulations impacting insurance and annuity products by coordinating updates to processes, documentation, and systems.
• Partner with Compliance to help maintain and update the Insurance & Annuity sections of the firm’s compliance manual and related supervisory materials.
• Assist Legal with documentation, research, and coordination related to insurance and annuity-related customer complaints.
• Maintain and update Letters of Acknowledgement used within the order entry and transaction processing workflow.
• Support new product launches and product changes by coordinating with carriers, internal review teams, operations, and order entry.
• Assist in the administration of marketing allowance programs with annuity carriers in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support the annual insurance and annuity suitability review process and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes in partnership with internal stakeholders and carriers.
• Participate in industry calls, meetings, or working groups as assigned to build knowledge of regulatory developments and industry practices.
• Work closely with senior team members to learn established processes, carrier relationships, and governance practices, with an expectation of expanded responsibility over time.


• Basic understanding of financial products and regulated business environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a process-driven environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with suitability, AML, or supervisory control concepts (training provided) preferred.


• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Required: 1+ years of experience in financial services, insurance, annuities, compliance, operations, or a related business role.
• Preferred: Experience within a broker-dealer, wealth management firm, insurance company, or financial services organization. Exposure to insurance or annuity products, compliance, operations, or regulatory processes.
