Job description

This is a rare opportunity.

An impactful position at a profitable, stable, self-funded studio with one of the best no-crunch cultures in our industry.

And you? You're an architect of joy. A tech artist who wears many hats.

Particle systems, prefabs, shaders. You build interfaces. Shape visual effects. Make Unity sing. You use timing, movement, and energetic animations to bring excitement to players.

You construct juicy, delightful experiences.

You're organized and creative. A master collaborator who derives joy from helping your peers in art, design, and engineering. You're excited by the idea of iterating quickly on a portfolio of 30+ games.

If that resonates, then we need your help bringing joy to others, one game at a time.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an amazing tech artist, bridging the gap between art and engineering, creating tools to streamline the pipeline, and optimizing visual assets.
  • Bring art mockups to life inside Unity, including all aspects: particle systems, shaders, VFX, prefab/UI creation, and building amazing animations.
  • Work with timeliness, quality, and adaptability
  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Communicate timelines, own tasks, and contribute to successful sprints
  • Embrace using AI to achieve "more, better, faster"
  • Relate to our motto: "Slow Down to Speed Up"

Qualifications for Position:

  • B.S. in a relevant field (or equivalent studio experience)
  • 5+ years of professional game dev (mobile experience is not required)
  • Expertise in the Unity editor
  • Proficiency with standard art tools (ex Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, ...)
  • A growth mindset that embraces continuous learning
  • Passion for evergreen games that reach tens of millions

With our headquarters in the heart of Orange County and a growing studio in Utah, we're dedicated to our mission of bringing joy to others one game at a time. Ever since our flagship title Solitaire hit the Apple App Store on the day it opened in 2008, MobilityWare has been entertaining gamers around the world. With a product portfolio that includes beloved hits such as FreeCell, Spider, Spades, Hearts, Mahjong, Yatzy, Splash Sort, and Bubble Shooter Pop, our games have been downloaded over 600 MILLION times.

MobilityWare was recently named one of Built in LA's Best Places to Work for the fifth year in a row and we've been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Orange County five times by the Orange County Business Journal and OC Register. While we're proud to be the company behind some of mobile gaming's most popular titles, our most important achievement is creating a work environment that encourages the professional growth and engagement of all our team members.
