Job description

Our mission at DigitalFish is to help our customers unlock transformative value across their organizations by creating high-impact visual experiences and next-generation media technology—bringing ideas to life through motion, storytelling, and design systems that shape how millions of people create and consume digital media. We have partnered with leading digital media companies, and are at the center of their efforts to build a new generation of platforms and experiences. Current and past customers include Apple, Google, Meta, Disney, DreamWorks, Activision, Technicolor, ESPN, LEGO, NASA and many others.

THE ROLE We're hiring a Motion Designer/Motion Graphics Animator to support our client's social media platform teams. You'll create high-craft motion design that improves clarity, usability, and delight across product experiences—while collaborating closely with a wide range of cross‐functional (XFN) partners (Product Design, Creative/Brand, Engineering, Research, PM, and other partner teams). This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between system‐level motion thinking (patterns, frameworks, reusable components) and high‐touch craft (hero animations, expressive storytelling moments, and polished interaction motion).

WHAT YOU'LL DO Design and animate motion systems for various surfaces: interaction motion, component behaviors, transitions, and "moments of delight." Create expressive 2D animations (and occasional 3D/hybrid work as needed) for product storytelling, launches, and in‐product education. Partner daily with Product Designers and Engineers to prototype, refine, and ship motion that matches design intent and performs well in production. Collaborate with broader XFN partners (creative direction, brand, illustration, content design, research, marketing/communications) to align motion with product goals and narrative.

Translate ambiguous asks into clear motion concepts, explore options quickly, and iterate with feedback. Contribute to motion guidelines, documentation, and reusable assets so work scales across teams and stays consistent. Present work with strong rationale—tying motion decisions to user outcomes (comprehension, confidence, reduced friction).

WHO YOU ARE 7+ years of professional experience in motion design/animation for digital products, brands, or agencies (or equivalent portfolio demonstrating comparable scope and craft). Strong portfolio showing excellent timing, easing, composition, and narrative clarity, including UI/product motion and/or motion systems work. Expertise in After Effects and core 2D design tools (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop); comfort working from Figma files and design systems.

Hands‐on experience shipping animations with Lottie (Bodymovin) and partnering with engineers to implement and optimize motion in production. Experience collaborating with engineers to ship motion into production (e.g., handing off specs, working through constraints, QA'ing implementation). Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and stakeholder feedback in a fast‐paced environment.

Strong communication skills and comfort working with distributed, cross‐functional teams. Prototyping experience (Figma prototyping, Origami, Principle, ProtoPie, etc.). Familiarity with 3D workflows (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar).

Experience building or contributing to motion design systems (guidelines, libraries, reusable patterns). Proof of eligibility to work in the United States or Canada. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 USD plus equity (per qualifications) The base pay actually offered will take into account internal parity, job‐related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors Health Insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Discounts on movie tickets, theme parks, hotels, Broadway and Vegas shows, shopping partners & more Flexible working environment and more!
