Clinical Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical and procedural cases while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality.
  • Provide comprehensive perioperative patient care, including pre-anesthesia evaluations, intraoperative management, and postoperative follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Participate in a light 1:6 call rotation.
  • Support evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Medical Director Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for Anesthesia services.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
  • Partner with hospital administration, surgical services leadership, and medical staff to develop departmental goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee quality assurance, patient safety programs, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Support physician and CRNA recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and retention efforts.
  • Assist with scheduling oversight, resource utilization, and operational efficiency to ensure optimal department performance.
  • Lead group meetings and participate in hospital committees as appropriate.
  • Promote professional development, continuing education, and best practices among anesthesia providers.
  • Monitor and implement quality metrics, performance improvement initiatives, and clinical protocols.
  • Serve as a liaison between the anesthesia team, medical staff, and hospital leadership.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with completion of ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for licensure in New York State
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Formal leadership experience preferred
