Beds: 933
Census is dependent on the area assigned.
Required experience includes handling CVOR, Neuro, Ortho, General, Transplants (excluding liver), GYN, and Cath Lab patients.
Skills required include opening sterile supplies, setting up Mayo stands, placing EKG leads, and monitoring pulse oximetry.
Familiarity with TEE imaging units and defibrillators is necessary.
Assist with intubation if needed, including knowledge of various intubation blades and bronchoscopes.
Familiarity with ventilators, including filling gases and calibrating machines, is essential.
Knowledge of IABP setup and troubleshooting is required.
Patient transport with IABP is part of the responsibilities.
Preferred skills include experience with anesthesia gas analyzers and POC testing for blood gas.
Experience in placing arterial lines, starting IVs, using Cell Saver, blood recovery, and auto transfusion systems is advantageous.
Familiarity with fiberoptic scopes and case preparation for patients with pacemakers is preferred.
Support on the unit includes an Anesthesia Tech Lead until 1400 and Anesthesia Techs until 1900.
Anesthesiologists are in-house 24/7.
Standard OR staff includes RNs, Surgical Techs, and Surgical Assistants.
Charge RNs are available in other units when floating.
Charting system used is EMR with EPIC.
IV Pumps and Med Dispensing systems are in place.
Floating will occur to any area requiring general anesthesia.
Scheduling includes no weekend rotation or call requirements.
Holiday expectations include working 50% of holidays per contract.
Shift times depend on requisition, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday.
