Job description

PACU Registered Nurse

Location: Oro Valley, AZ

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 05:45-18:30 with 3/12's schedule. On-call requirements include 1-12 hour call and 2-24 hour call on weekends.

Job Description: The PACU Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Post Anesthesia Care patients. This role requires collaboration with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other personnel while utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.
  • Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • 2+ years of PACU experience.
  • Current Arizona RN License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
