Job description

Position Summary

The Director of the Magnet Program provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization’s pursuit and sustainment of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program. This role is accountable for enterprise-wide Magnet program, alignment with organizational priorities, and sustained performance across all Magnet model components. Additionally, this position is responsible for prioritization, integration, and outcomes accountability, ensuring Magnet principles are embedded into nursing practice, governance, research, quality, and workforce strategy.

Education
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field. (Required)
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP, PhD). (Preferred)
Experience
  • Seven (7) years of progressive nursing leadership experience. (Required)
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional practice, quality, or nursing excellence programs. (Required)
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to a Magnet designation or redesignation. (Preferred)
  • Experience in a quaternary or academic pediatric health system. (Preferred)
Certifications
  • Current Arizona RN license or compact license with eligibility for AZ licensure. (Required)
  • National nursing certification (e.g., NEA-BC, CPN, CNML, CCRN) or obtained within 1 year. (Required)
Special Skills
  • Expert knowledge of ANCC Magnet Recognition Program standards. (Required)
