Job description

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Software Developer for a position located in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Senior Software Developer will manage software programs and applications from start to finish, while analyzing software errors and reviewing status reports.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience.

Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.

Senior Software Developer Responsibilities:

  • Review and apply industry best practices and techniques to design, develop, test, deploy, support, and maintain complex applications based on business requirements.
  • Manage new software programs by using approved technologies and coding standards.
  • Manage user needs to recommend and implement software improvements and testing.
  • Review programming scripts to enhance functionality of software development life cycle for assigned projects.
  • Lead research on emerging application development software projects in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Partner with development team to ensure consistency and completion of deliverables among team members.
  • Lead problem solving and apply processes to software solutions.
  • Lead the design and customization of software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all software process documentation and validation testing are completed to minimize error.
  • Exhibit leadership in cross functional development practices and application ownership.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff.
  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
  • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements of the Senior Software Developer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Or an Associate’s Degree in in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Or a High School degree and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of full cycle developer methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases (SQL Server is highly preferred) and creating SQL statements.
  • Expert proficiency with HTML, CSS, and web fonts.
  • Expert technical expertise in computer equipment, storage, back-ups, operating systems and tools used in an operating environment required.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PPT).
  • Ability to obtain applicable certifications.
