What is an analytics program manager?

Analytics Program Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating analytics projects within an organization. They bridge the gap between business goals and data-driven insights, ensuring that analytics initiatives align with strategic objectives. These managers work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to plan, execute, and deliver analytics solutions that drive business value. Their role often includes managing project timelines, budgets, stakeholder communications, and the overall success of analytics programs.

How does an analytics program manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data initiatives?

An Analytics Program Manager works closely with stakeholders such as data engineers, analysts, product managers, and business leaders to align analytics projects with organizational goals. They facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring that data solutions address real business needs. Regular check-ins, project updates, and cross-team workshops are common, helping to prioritize initiatives and resolve roadblocks efficiently. This collaborative approach ensures data-driven decisions are effectively implemented across the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an analytics program manager, and why are they important?

To excel as an Analytics Program Manager, you need strong project management abilities, experience in analytics or data science, and often a relevant degree such as in business, statistics, or computer science. Familiarity with data visualization tools (like Tableau or Power BI), analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics), and project management software (like Jira or Asana) is typically required, and certifications like PMP or Agile are advantageous. Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills set top performers apart in this role. These competencies are crucial for successfully guiding analytics initiatives, aligning cross-functional teams, and delivering actionable insights that drive business value.

Description

Tiger Analytics is an advanced analytics consulting firm. We are the trusted analytics partner for several Fortune 100 companies, enabling them to generate business value from data. Our consultants bring deep expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI. Our business value and leadership have been recognized by various market research firms, including Forrester and Gartner.

We are looking for an organized and proactive Program Manager to oversee, align, and drive a portfolio of related projects to successful completion. In this role, you will lead cross-functional program initiatives, maintain critical tracking artifactsβ€”including Gantt charts and risk logsβ€”and actively unblock teams to keep delivery timelines on track. The ideal candidate excels at cross-project coordination, risk mitigation, and clear status reporting for key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs encompassing multiple concurrent projects. Align project goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive program-level Gantt charts and schedules to visualize dependencies, milestones, and critical paths across projects.
  • Continuously track, monitor, and report on the scope, status, budget, and metrics of multiple projects within the program.
  • Proactively maintain the program risk log. Identify potential bottlenecks, develop actionable mitigation strategies, and elevate critical issues as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation to triage, address, and remove technical or operational blockers for project teams.
  • Prepare and facilitate regular status meetings, executive dashboards, and program reviews to keep cross-functional leaders and team members informed.
  • 10+ years of experience in project/program management leading complex, multi-project delivery.
  • Strong track record of analyzing risks, triaging dependencies, and resolving cross-team blockers quickly.
  • Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to break down complex technical blockers, align cross-functional engineers and drive consensus under tight deadlines.
  • Working experience in Healthcare Industry is strongly preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is a plus.

Significant career development opportunities exist as the company grows. The position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a small, fast-growing, challenging and entrepreneurial environment, with a high degree of individual responsibility.
