Position Summary

The Business Analytics & Planning Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the reporting, analytics, forecasting, and planning capabilities that support informed business decisions across Modular Solutions.

This position transforms operational, financial, manufacturing, and project data into meaningful business intelligence that enables executive leadership to monitor performance, evaluate opportunities, identify risks, and plan for future growth.

Working closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Business Development, Project Execution, and Software Integration, this role develops dashboards, reporting solutions, forecasting models, and business analyses that improve visibility and support strategic decision-making throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with technical business intelligence skills and a solid understanding of construction or manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Develop executive dashboards and operational scorecards using Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Design, build, and maintain recurring reports supporting manufacturing, operations, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Develop meaningful KPIs that measure business performance.
  • Automate manual reporting processes whenever possible.
  • Ensure leadership has timely access to accurate and reliable business information.
  • Validate data quality and identify reporting inconsistencies.

Data Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Develop SQL queries and datasets to support reporting and business analysis.
  • Extract, cleanse, validate, and transform data from ERP, manufacturing, project management, and business systems.
  • Build reusable reporting models that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop data visualizations that communicate business performance clearly.
  • Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and root cause investigations.

Financial & Operational Analysis

  • Analyze revenue, margins, labor productivity, manufacturing performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop business cases supporting operational improvements and capital investments.
  • Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Evaluate operational performance against established goals and KPIs.
  • Support profitability analysis across projects, product lines, and manufacturing operations.

Manufacturing Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop production capacity models.
  • Forecast labor and manufacturing resource requirements.
  • Monitor manufacturing throughput and identify capacity constraints.
  • Analyze backlog, workload, and production trends.
  • Support long-range capacity planning initiatives.

Strategic Planning Support

  • Support annual and long-range business planning activities through data-driven analysis and forecasting.
  • Develop scenario models to evaluate business opportunities, manufacturing capacity, market demand, operational risks, and financial impacts.
  • Perform risk assessments by analyzing production constraints, supply chain challenges, resource availability, market trends, and project pipeline data.
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to identify growth opportunities and support business development strategies.
  • Prepare executive presentations, planning materials, and business cases that support leadership decision-making.
  • Monitor strategic initiatives through KPI tracking, performance reporting, and variance analysis, providing recommendations when performance deviates from established objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Business Development, Project Management, and Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Software Integration Manager regarding ERP systems, reporting architecture, integrations, and data availability.
  • Serve as the Modular Solutions primary resource for business analytics and executive reporting.
  • Support leadership by providing timely analysis and recommendations that improve decision making.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in modular construction, advanced manufacturing, mission critical facilities, industrial construction, or data center infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of modular delivery models, including Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) and Contractor-Furnished Contractor-Installed (CFCI) project execution.
  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, mechanical and electrical systems, and modular manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations through business analytics, capacity planning, forecasting, and operational reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex information to executive leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience within the modular construction, mission critical, industrial, energy, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with Vista, Viewpoint, Procore, or comparable ERP and project management systems.
  • Knowledge of Power Query, Power Pivot, SharePoint, and enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and forecasting models.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, APIs, and enterprise reporting architecture.
