Job description

Supply Chain Analyst We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Supply Chain Analyst to support and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations for our client. This role is responsible for analyzing data, identifying process improvements, managing inventory and demand planning metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience working with ERP systems and supply chain data. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located near Lake Forest, IL. Responsibilities
  • Analyze supply chain data related to inventory, procurement, logistics, forecasting, and production planning to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain performance.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to improve supply chain efficiency and service levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to optimize stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Support demand forecasting and capacity planning processes through data analysis and trend evaluation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and assist with supplier management initiatives.
  • Analyze transportation and distribution metrics to improve delivery performance and reduce logistics expenses.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions and develop corrective action plans.
  • Maintain data accuracy within ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for management outlining findings, recommendations, and business impacts.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to supply chain optimization, inventory management, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, inventory management, procurement, or a related role.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other data visualization and reporting tools is preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
