Job Description:
The W. P. Carey School of Business, Office of Advancement, is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Engagement Officer to support strategic alumni engagement initiatives. Under general supervision, this individual will be responsible for managing an online community platform powered by Hivebrite, coordinating virtual programming and communications that foster meaningful alumni connections, creating and publishing content, and tracking and reporting alumni engagement metrics.
This position plays a key role in supporting the Advancement team's data-driven approach to engagement strategy and strengthening the School's ability to reach, involve, and serve a global alumni network. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and motivated to leverage technology and insights to improve outreach, engagement, and measurable outcomes. They will demonstrate strong curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, with the ability to apply generative AI tools to enhance research, analysis, content creation, and overall workflow efficiency.
Position Salary Range:
$50,000-$60,000 annually; to commensurate with education and experience
Essential Duties:
Platform Management & Digital Engagement (40%)
  • Administer and manage the W. P. Carey alumni engagement platform, including content creation, platform maintenance, user engagement initiatives, analytics, technical troubleshooting, training, and onboarding of new users.
  • Maintain accurate alumni engagement records and participation data, including involvement in events, community groups, volunteer opportunities, and digital activities.
  • Monitor platform performance and engagement metrics, evaluate effectiveness of digital initiatives, and recommend enhancements to increase user participation and overall impact.
  • Respond to engagement-related inquiries and provide support to ensure a positive user and volunteer experience.
  • Collaborate with Alumni Engagement team members and school stakeholders to support engagement objectives, programs, and strategic initiatives.

Content & Communications (15%)
  • Partner with Advancement, Marketing and Communications, and other stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and publish content that promotes alumni engagement across digital channels.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for email marketing campaigns, event registration systems, and survey platforms.

Data Analytics & Reporting (15%)
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute reports and dashboards that provide insights into alumni engagement activities, participation trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze engagement data and metrics to support data-informed outreach strategies and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Alumni Engagement and Advancement colleagues to fulfill reporting needs and monitor program performance.

Event Support & Engagement Tracking (15%)
  • Support the planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid alumni events through event setup, registration management, RSVP tracking, attendee communications, and post-event data management.
  • Assist with engagement tracking, assessment, and reporting following events and programs.

Virtual Programming & Digital Initiatives (10%)
  • Coordinate and support virtual alumni engagement programs, including webinars, networking events, online communities, and digital campaigns.
  • Assist in implementing digital engagement strategies designed to increase alumni participation, interaction, and community-building.

Other Duties (5%)
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
