Job description

The Production Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and safe production. This role involves loading materials, adjusting machine settings, inspecting finished products for quality, and performing basic maintenance or troubleshooting when needed. The Machine Operator follows safety procedures, production schedules, and quality standards to help maintain consistent output and minimize downtime. Strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and basic mechanical skills are important for success in this position.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Improve production efficiency by operating manufacturing equipment and filling production position vacancies, as directed each day by production leaders.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up, start, and operate production machinery according to work instructions

  • Load raw materials or parts into machines and ensure proper alignment

  • Monitor machine operation to ensure products meet quality and production standards

  • Inspect finished products for defects and remove non-conforming items

  • Adjust machine settings to maintain proper speed, temperature, pressure, or alignment

  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic adjustments

  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major problems to maintenance or supervisors

  • Record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and defects

  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required protective equipment

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Communicate with supervisors and team members about production status or issues

  • Meet daily production targets and efficiency goals

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Work shifts will be 12 hours. Overtime may be required.
