The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, evaluations, consultations, and treatments in order to assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance. The Physical Therapist will work in an outpatient therapy office setting. Skilled in evaluating and treating medically stable outpatients. Knowledge in documentation and billing for outpatient services. Oversight of physical therapy assistants, techs and PT students.
Essential Job Functions
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with BillingsClinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and serviceexpectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agencystandards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or jobperformance.
• Evaluates patients' physical and functional status withregard to developmental and chronological age by administering and Interpretingtests. Develops individual treatment plan to include objective measures,assessment, short and long term goals, frequency and duration of therapy.Observes and interviews patients, reviews medical charts and consults withphysicians or nursing personnel as appropriate. Maintains compliance withindepartmental QA.
• Demonstrates creativity, skill and efficiency inimplementing treatment plans that include the use of recognized treatmenttechniques and modalities appropriate to the age and disability being treatedand goals to be achieved in the Acute Care setting.
• Demonstrates competency with all Acute Care medicalequipment both rehabilitation and nursing.
• Documents timely and regular initial evaluations,progress and discharge planning notes consistent with department policy,regulatory agency and reimbursement requirements.
• Completes daily patient charges and work schedule. AMPAC scoring tool.
• Participates in discharge planning and/or careconferences with physicians, nursing and social services personnel to ensurepatients have appropriate assistance and continuation of rehabilitation at homeor in other care settings.
• Maintains compliance within departmental QA
• Identifies need and sets goals for own professionalgrowth and development; meets all mandatory requirements. Participates andattends educational meetings with respect to continuing education, co-workerin-services, and Billings Clinic educational course offerings to enhanceknowledge and further professional skills.
• Maintains competency in all organizational,departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safetystandards relevant to job performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet theneeds of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Graduate Degree - Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
Certifications and Licenses
• Current Montana Physical Therapy license.
• CPR certified
