About us:
American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC) is a specialty chemical manufacturer located in Cedar City, UT
General Description of Work Performed:
Under minimal supervision, performs the functions necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install and rebuild production equipment and associated machinery.
Wage: $35.60/Hr.
Schedule wage increases at 3,6, 9 & 12 month time periods based on performance.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills:
Experience in Millwright or Mechanical industry.
Journeyman or equivalent in one or more of the following trades: Millwright, Machinist, Welding and Pipefitting. Must have a strong Mechanical aptitude.
Some experience in welding and fabrication of stainless steel, carbon steel. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical principles a plus.
Experienced in rebuilding process equipment, such as pumps and gearboxes. Willing to participate in skill enhancement programs.
Proactive and self-motivated with ability to work in and promote a team environment.
High school education or equivalent required.
Must meet Essential Physical Functions for the position
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
Due to the nature of our work with ITAR-controlled items, this position requires access to technical data and hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Responsibilities
Specific Job Duties:
Disciplines, combined with appropriate hands on experience that demonstrates mechanical aptitude or a millwright, machinist, or similar certification along with appropriate industrial experience.
Duties may include the following: Troubleshoots and repairs machinery as needed. Rebuilds pumps, gear reducers and other process equipment.
Ability to work with PVC, fiber cast and FRP piping.
Alignment of rotating machinery at a minimum with dial indicators, and preferably with laser alignment equipment.
Welding and fabrication skills.
Ability to work any shift, including weekends and overtime. Ability to work in various temperature extremes.
Schedule: Working 12 hours shift 6 to 6, rotating between days and nights monthly. Shift is 2-on 2-off 3-on 2-off. This shift gives you every other weekend off.
