About the Role:
INSURANCE DEFENSE ATTORNEY
FLANAGAN, BARONE & O'BRIEN, LLC (“FBO”) is a successful, growing firm which embraces
diversity in seeking to build a strong team of professionals. FBO is currently seeking a Litigation Insurance
Defense Attorney with 5-7 years of trial experience. The position provides a flexible schedule and the
opportunity to work both independently and as part of our strong litigation team.
Responsibilities:
 Handle all aspects of insurance defense matters (auto, general liability, construction, products
liability and property damage matters) up to and through trial, including discovery, court
appearances, depositions/examinations under oath, expert issues, and client management
 Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses to prepare for and complete trial testimony
 Drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, required client reports
 Render opinions on liability, damages and case value
 Appear before courts and arbitrators/mediators
Qualifications:
 JD from an accredited law school
 Admitted to NJ Bar
 Must have completed at least five (5) civil trials
 5-7 years previous experience in litigation with one or two first bench trials 
 Experience with insurance defense, general liability and construction litigation
 Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
 Exceptional writing and communication skills
 Computer proficiency
 Ability to maintain/enter billable time
 Ability to prioritize assignments and case load with trial schedule
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Candidate must have a flexible schedule and demonstrate a commitment to providing quality client
service and adherence to work completion deadlines.
Candidate must be a member in good standing with the New Jersey Bar and be able to travel as required
for trials, hearings, depositions, etc.
