Job Summary
The AMI Analyst (Functional System Analyst Assoc.) supports electric distribution operations by monitoring and analyzing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data to improve system reliability, power quality, and billing accuracy. This role is responsible for identifying meter and system issues, performing data analysis, and coordinating corrective actions with field and engineering teams.
Job Description
AMI Analyst Assoc. - AMI Analyst (Functional System Analyst Assoc. - Functional System Analyst):
What You'll Do:
  • Monitor AMI system performance, including meter communication, device status, and system alerts
  • Investigate and resolve meter issues such as unreachable devices, failed meters, and configuration errors
  • Analyze AMI data to identify voltage anomalies, power quality concerns, and service interruptions
  • Support meter-to-cash operations by ensuring accurate meter data and billing functionality
  • Manage meter lifecycle activities including installs, disconnects/reconnects, and status transitions
  • Generate and track field work requests for meter repairs, replacements, and communication issues
  • Assist with outage investigations and provide AMI-driven insights to operations and engineering teams
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics to support operational decision-making
  • Support storm response and restoration efforts using AMI data

  • 4 years of experience in IT systems support with High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in IT systems support with Associates Degree in business or IT
  • 0 years of experience in IT systems support with Bachelor's Degree in business or IT

  • The level of expertise and competence required to carry out these responsibilities varies with the position level in this job family.
  • The competence and skill level increase with the position level.

AMI Analyst (Functional System Analyst):

  • 6 years of experience in IT systems support with High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4 years of experience in IT systems support with Associate Degree in business or IT
