Job Overview

The Robotic Weld Operator will perform the following tasks:

  • Safe, Accurate & Timely loading of componentry into weld tooling as required to produce welded trailer sub-assemblies.
  • Verify proper part orientation and fit within weld tooling to ensure all part quality expectations will be achieved.
  • Proper execution of machine Cycle Start sequence steps they have been properly trained to perform.
  • Safe and Timely unloading of welded trailer sub-assemblies, placing weldments in the proper work-in-process cart for transfer to the Paint Operation.
  • Proper use of all Lift Devices provided at the cell, if applicable.
  • Achieve target machine cycle throughout the shift.
  • Perform assigned routine machine maintenance tasks they have been properly trained to perform.
  • Collect & Record production throughput and defect data as required.
  • Immediately notify Team Leader of any issues preventing the proper execution of these tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Robotic Weld Operator MUST follow all defined Safety Requirements for the assigned Robotic Work-cell.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator MUST be responsible for their personal safety as well as the safety of those around them.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator is responsible for the Manufacture of the highest level of Quality product possible with the Materials & Tools provided. If something is observed to be wrong, stop the process and notify the Team Leader immediately.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator r will maintain order and cleanliness within their assigned robotic work-cell.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator MUST follow all prescribed Standard Work required to achieve target machine cycle times.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator is expected to Continuously identify opportunities for improvement within their assigned work-cell
  • The Robotic Weld Operator will perform assigned preventative maintenance to the Robotic Work-cell at the established frequency and following all defined standard work. They are expected to Drive continuous improvement to assigned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator is expected to facilitate the effective hand-off of the robotic work-cell to their incoming shift peer. Ensure effective communication of all issues experienced, corrective actions taken as well as critical conditions requiring ongoing monitoring.
  • The Robotic Weld Operator is expected to participate in formal problem-solving when required.

The Robotic Weld Operator is expected to cross-train on all robotic Weld Cells.

Education – Experience Required

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Exposure and/or Training in some form of disciplined Problem-Solving format is desirable

Work Experience Required:

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment operating industrial machinery.

Experience performing routine maintenance functions on machinery or equipment, ideally in a manufacturing setting
