Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Operator/Laborer to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you will operate heavy equipment and perform manual labor tasks on construction sites focused on excavation and underground utilities. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and eager to contribute to challenging projects in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and bulldozers for excavation, trenching, and site grading.

โ€ข Install and repair underground utilities, including water, sewer, storm drain, and electrical conduits.

โ€ข Perform general labor duties, including digging, backfilling, pipe laying, compaction, and site cleanup.

โ€ข Assist in setting up and maintaining traffic control and safety barriers on job sites.

โ€ข Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.

โ€ข Collaborate with foremen, engineers, and crew members to ensure projects meet deadlines and quality standards.

โ€ข Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

โ€ข Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, specifically in excavation and underground utilities installation.

โ€ข Valid government-issued ID (e.g., driverโ€™s license or state ID).

โ€ข Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team.

โ€ข Reliable transportation to and from job sites (various locations in the region).

โ€ข Willingness to undergo random drug testing and background checks.

โ€ข Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 100 lbs, working in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.

โ€ข Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices.

โ€ข Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and grade stakes.

โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills

โ€ข Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL) Class A or B โ€“ a significant plus for equipment transport and additional responsibilities.

โ€ข Experience with GPS-guided equipment or laser levels for precise grading.
