Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are seeking a strategic and technical Business Intelligence Engineer to build the analytics and data foundations that power Amazon Leo's global marketing engine. This role is critical in defining how a new Amazon business measures customer behavior, marketing effectiveness, funnel performance, and growth. You will design and build datasets, dashboards, pipelines, and measurement frameworks that enable Marketing, Product, and Leadership teams to make fast, data-driven decisions at scale.
This is a high-impact role requiring both strategic vision and hands-on technical execution. You will own and evolve the backend data architecture within our Customer Dat (Treasure Data), building upon existing foundations as new data sources and use cases emerge. You will design and maintain datasets and pipelines across our B2C tech stack, partnering with Data Engineering and Product teams to ensure complete, accurate, and actionable data across the full customer journey. This role requires collaborative autonomy-you will make independent strategic and technical decisions and drive your work forward with minimal oversight, while actively coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and shared success.
Key job responsibilities
* Architect, build, and maintain foundational business datasets across our tech stack and other internal systems to support analytics, reporting, and customer growth use cases.
* Develop SQL-based transformations, data models, and ETL/ELT workflows to structure and unify marketing and customer data for customer lifecycle use cases.
* Design, optimize, and manage Amazon QuickSight dashboards that provide visibility into acquisition performance, attribution, and lifecycle funnels.
* Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify funnel drop-offs, diagnose performance issues, uncover customer insights, and evaluate marketing effectiveness.
* Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches, data models, and scalable self-service tools.
* Drive alignment on KPI definitions, measurement frameworks, taxonomy, and data governance across global marketing teams.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Sales Ops, Data Science, and cross-functional partners to support experimentation, segmentation, forecasting, and predictive insights.
* Communicate effectively with senior management audiences (e.g. narratives, inputs into weekly/monthly/quarterly business reviews).* Drive best practices in operational excellence, data modeling, and analysis. Ensure that BI solutions are correctly and efficiently supporting the business.* Participate in hiring activities and mentor junior team members
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
You will spend part of your day improving the business health data architecture-designing better datasets, cleaning pipelines, and enabling new use cases in the CDP and other internal spaces. Another part of your day will involve partnering with Data Engineering to review instrumentation or troubleshoot data issues. You will also work directly with Marketing and Product teams to conduct deep dives, and design new measurement approaches. You will be a strategic and technical owner ensuring that Amazon Leo Marketing can make accurate, timely, data-driven decisions.
About the team
The Amazon Leo B2C team is responsible for building a world-class experience and driving global demand for a transformational connectivity service. The B2C Analytics team builds the systems, data flows, measurements, and insights that support a multi-LOB global business. We operate with the agility of a startup inside Amazon, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Science, and global marketing teams to ensure our decisions are grounded in high-quality data.
