Job description

#W2 Role Job Description We are seeking an experienced Amazon Redshift / SQL Developer with strong expertise in large-scale data warehouse environments and Healthcare/Medical Claims data. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift, advanced SQL development, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning. The candidate must be comfortable working with high-volume healthcare datasets and translating complex business requirements into scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize databases and data solutions using Amazon Redshift. Develop, debug, maintain, and optimize complex Redshift Stored Procedures. Write high-performance SQL queries involving complex joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and advanced SQL techniques. Perform query optimization and troubleshoot slow-running SQL queries, Redshift workloads, and ETL/ELT pipelines. Work with large-scale transactional and analytical datasets in high-volume data environments. Design and support scalable data warehouse solutions using dimensional modeling, star schemas, and snowflake schemas. Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes integrating data from multiple heterogeneous data sources. Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into efficient SQL and data transformation solutions. Implement Redshift performance best practices, including distribution keys, sort keys, workload management, data compression, and table optimization. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity across multiple systems. Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis for production defects and performance problems. Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. Develop production-ready code while meeting tight project deadlines and established quality standards. Follow version control, deployment, release management, and software development best practices. Support cloud-based data solutions and integrations with AWS services related to Amazon Redshift. Work extensively with Healthcare and Medical Claims data, including claims processing, adjudication, eligibility, member and provider data, ICD and CPT codes, and healthcare reporting. Communicate technical designs, data solutions, and issues effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift, including database design, query optimization, workload management, and performance tuning. Minimum 4+ years of experience working with large-scale datasets and high-volume data environments. Expert-level experience developing and optimizing Amazon Redshift Stored Procedures. Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills. Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional data modeling concepts. Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and complex data transformations. Strong knowledge of Redshift distribution keys, sort keys, compression, and performance optimization techniques. Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes. Strong Healthcare/Medical Claims domain knowledge. Experience working with claims adjudication, eligibility, provider/member data, ICD/CPT codes, and healthcare reporting. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS cloud-based data ecosystems and Redshift-related AWS services. Experience with version control, CI/CD, deployment, and release management processes. Prior experience working in large-scale healthcare data warehouse or claims analytics environments.
