Job description

Amazon Shipping is building Amazon's next $100B business. Emerging Programs is where new and experimental initiatives take shape, the bets we're incubating to unlock the next wave of growth. As a Sr. Program Manager, you own the programs that turn these ideas into reality.
You coordinate across Operations, Technology, Commercial, and Product teams to take emerging initiatives from incubation through delivery. One day you're standing up the operational framework for a new shipping capability with carrier partners. The next, you're designing the rollout plan for a program that didn't exist three months ago. Your work determines which experiments become funded programs and which wind down with clear learnings.
This role demands comfort with ambiguity and a bias for action when the playbook doesn't exist yet. You build execution frameworks for programs that may pivot, scale, or sunset based on what you learn. You bring operational rigor without killing the speed that early-stage bets require. You make go/no-go recommendations with incomplete data. You give leadership honest visibility into what's working and what isn't, so they can make confident funding decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive emerging programs from incubation through delivery, coordinating cross-functional execution across Operations, Technology, Commercial, and Product teams
- Build execution frameworks tailored to early-stage programs where milestones shift, scope evolves, and success criteria may be redefined
- Provide leadership with clear, honest visibility into program health to enable timely go/no-go funding decisions
- Establish governance mechanisms that maintain accountability without slowing experimentation
- Coordinate operational readiness for new capabilities, working with carrier partners, compliance teams, and field operations
- Surface learnings early and systematically so programs can be scaled, pivoted, or wound down based on evidence
- Build and maintain cross-organizational partnerships that enable rapid iteration despite competing priorities
- Support quarterly planning with senior stakeholders, aligning investments across the emerging programs portfolio
About the team
We are NOVA, a technical product organization that incubates and grows new revenue-generating businesses for Amazon Shipping. We prove which capabilities, customer segments, and integration models become the next ecosystems: turning strategic initiatives into scalable products, winning enterprise customers through bespoke technical solutions, enabling large cohorts to adopt through integrator platforms and API infrastructure.
Emerging Programs is where new bets take shape. Some will become the next major revenue streams. Others will generate valuable learnings and wind down. Both outcomes are success if we run the programs well.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Knowledge of general AI tools
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
