Job description

Role Overview:
This role focuses on the design, implementation, and administration of Pega infrastructure components. Key responsibilities include Kafka externalization and disaster recovery, Elasticsearch migration to AWS OpenSearch, Helm-based deployments, Pega platform upgrades from v23 to v26, and modernizing containerized application deployments. The position requires deep expertise in Kubernetes and AWS EKS administration, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational performance of the Pega platform and its backing services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Kafka externalization and a Production Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture utilizing Active/Passive failover topology.
  • Externalize Elasticsearch services to AWS OpenSearch Service, integrating with the Pega platform and SRS EKS cluster.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for deploying supporting and backing services within the Kubernetes environment.
  • Perform an upgrade of the existing Pega platform from Version 23 to Version 26, including compatibility assessments and execution across environments.
  • Upgrade application deployment processes to leverage containerized deployments using Pega-provided Docker images, Helm Charts, and Enterprise Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) pipelines.
  • Administer and support Kubernetes and Amazon EKS, including deploying/managing pods, configuring Ingress resources, creating Service Accounts/RBAC, and managing AWS Application Load Balancers (ALB).
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, networking, platform integrations, and support operational activities related to cluster management and application availability.
  • Deliverables include Kafka externalization, AWS OpenSearch integration, Helm charts, Pega platform upgrade, containerized deployment framework, and comprehensive technical documentation.
