Job description

Amazon Leo is building the world's most advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the globe. As part of this mission, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager - Technical (PMT), DTD Capacity Planning to define product requirements for and lead delivery of a new system capacity and optimization model based on forecasted subscriber demand globally for DTD service across NTN smartphones, IoT, and automotive.
This role requires technical mastery of the mobile 5G handset ecosystem, IoT modules, and automotive, including product lifecycle management, subscriber trends, attach/activation rates by segment, typical usage scenarios, network performance KPIs, demand forecast models, and the ability to translate these inputs into product requirements for a DTD system capacity planning model. The Senior Product Manager - Technical (PMT) will be at the forefront of defining and building 0-to-1 DTD satellite systems for consumer, business, and government customers globally.

Key job responsibilities
Drive feature alignment with engineering on a satellite system capacity and optimization model for Amazon Leo Direct-to-Device (DTD) service, bringing solid business, product, and market research rigor into the process.
Own the DTD system capacity and optimization model, ensuring on-time delivery across multiple workstreams with high standards and operational excellence.
Work closely with Amazon Leo engineering teams and telco MNO/Device/Chipset ecosystem to define, build and run detailed capacity simulation models, ensuring deterministic behavior, low latency, and high reliability for satellite-based connectivity and TN-NTN mobility

Lead by example with systems thinking to solve problems.
Stay current with industry trends, and evolving NTN deployment models to guide long-term product strategy, capacity, and demand models aligned to Amazon Leo's roadmap.
Write and present technical documents (6-pagers, PR/FAQs, BRDs, PRDs) to senior leadership.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering hardware, software, systems, operations, and program management teams across Amazon Leo.
Be structured and flexible at the same time to learn as the business evolves.
Provide visibility and communicate extremely well, with responsibility to provide updates to VPs, author operation plans, business review documents, and communicate to the broader Amazon Leo team.
Be a seasoned product leader with a demonstrated history of leading product strategy, technology solutions, data analytics, and customer experience.
Thrive on ambiguity and have a track record of delivering large-scale technology products and/or led large operational or technical teams.
Lead large, global, and complex technology initiatives in a large business unit, working cross-functionally with several business and technical teams.
The ability to think and move quickly and is inspired to build mechanisms to simplify and continuously innovate.
Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
Operate with a bias for action while maintaining the highest bar for quality and safety in satellite communications systems.
