What is Amazon Lending?

Amazon Lending is a financing program offered by Amazon to eligible small and medium-sized businesses that sell on its platform. The program provides access to short-term business loans, lines of credit, and merchant cash advances, helping sellers manage inventory, expand operations, or cover other business expenses. Loan offers are typically based on a seller's performance and sales history on Amazon, and the application process is streamlined within the Seller Central dashboard. Repayments are automatically deducted from the seller’s Amazon sales, making it a convenient option for many marketplace vendors.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Amazon Lending specialist?

To thrive as an Amazon Lending Specialist, you need a strong background in finance, lending operations, and risk analysis, often supported by a degree in finance, business, or a related field. Familiarity with loan origination platforms, CRM systems, and financial analysis tools is typically required. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills distinguish top performers in this role. These skills are crucial to accurately evaluate borrower eligibility, deliver a seamless lending experience, and support Amazon sellers' business growth.

What are typical challenges faced by professionals working in Amazon Lending, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Amazon Lending often encounter the challenge of balancing risk assessment with providing a positive customer experience for sellers seeking financial products. Navigating rapidly changing e-commerce trends and regulatory requirements requires strong analytical skills and adaptability. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams such as risk, product, and customer support are crucial for developing solutions that meet both business goals and seller needs. Job description

We are seeking a Product Management Tech Leader to envision and lead a best-in-class financial experience for our sellers and partners. This role is responsible for re-imagining a friction-less and delightful financial experience for our sellers, working backwards from their requirements.
As an ideal candidate, you will have advanced experience in tech product management, demonstrated leadership of high-impact strategic initiatives, and experience in building and launching products. You think big and set a grand vision. You possess the ability to synthesize customer pain points, craft product vision and roadmaps, develop requirements and manage all aspects of execution. You excel at rapid learning in new domain areas, understanding integration between products and systems, and have the technical skillsets in analyzing data to make product decisions. This role is also cross-functional - you will partner with Stores businesses and programs (Next Gen Selling, Spectrum, Fees, Lending, Emerging Markets, Supply Chain, and more) to re-imagine and build a delightful financial customer experience WW, influencing across these groups towards the best customer outcomes.
The successful candidate will be an independent thinker who can communicate persuasively, and comes with a desire to get things done. Ideally, you will bring with you some familiarity in finance and accounting constructs to hit the ground running.
This role will be a good fit if you are a builder who thrives under the responsibility of creating product vision, tech execution, large-scale organizational impact, and an impeccable ability to communicate verbally and in writing. A good candidate loves rapid prototyping and stays on top of industry standards and benchmarks in the e-commerce financial domain.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for the Partner financial experience, from vision and strategy through requirements definition, metric/instrumentation development, roadmap planning, design, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Own the roadmap for existing customer experience products, driving adoption and evolution.
- Influence across Stores' product owners where we do not directly own the business or technology to ensure we are launching experiences that are not reflective of Amazon's internal organizational structure.
- Define and track metrics to measure product success, including cost savings for sellers, contacts reduction, analytics integration, financial impact, and Selling Partner satisfaction.
- Mentor and up-level product and technical skills across the team, creating mechanisms that raise the overall bar in product management discipline.
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience in setting a product vision, evangelizing that vision across stakeholders, and influencing the right customer outcomes.
- Proven experience in technical product management with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.

- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience leading and defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations
About the team
