Job description

Why Better. Why Now.

Better is rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform—turning a process that once took weeks into something that can happen in seconds.

With over $110B in loans funded and $1.2B+ raised, we operate at real scale while rethinking how homeownership works from the ground up.

The category hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity.

A Better Opportunity

We are changing the face of lending by combining innovative technology with an advisor-centric approach to deliver personalized financing solutions for every borrower.

The successful candidate is a driven, relationship-focused mortgage professional who embraces technology, moves with urgency, and is passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals. Our proprietary loan origination system leverages AI, automation, and real-time data to help advisors work more efficiently, provide informed guidance, and create a faster, more personalized lending experience.

Advisors have access to a broad suite of solutions, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, HELOC, and other traditional and specialized loan products. Strategic partnerships and channels, including Coinbase, Credit Karma, and others, provide additional opportunities to connect with borrowers and grow a meaningful business.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, forward-thinking company where technology strengthens the advisor-client relationship rather than replacing it. We are looking for professionals who want to build their business, challenge traditional lending, and help shape the future of the mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consultative, personalized mortgage experience based on each borrower’s financial goals and circumstances

  • Educate clients on available financing options and recommend appropriate loan solutions

  • Leverage our proprietary AI-enabled loan origination system, automation, and data-driven tools to manage opportunities and accelerate the lending process

  • Engage and convert company-provided opportunities while developing relationships with personal, professional, and referral networks

  • Manage an active pipeline from initial consultation through closing

  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with borrowers, real estate partners, and internal team members

  • Build lasting relationships that generate repeat business and referrals

  • Collaborate with operations, processing, underwriting, and closing teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation throughout the loan process

  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies and applicable federal and state lending regulations

  • Stay informed about market conditions, lending guidelines, product updates, and emerging technology

Qualifications

  • Active NMLS registration and applicable state licenses, or the ability to obtain required licensing

  • Mortgage lending, financial services, sales, or relationship-management experience preferred

  • Strong consultative sales and communication skills

  • Ability to understand a borrower’s needs and clearly explain complex financial information

  • Comfortable adopting AI, automation, digital platforms, and new technology

  • Self-motivated, organized, and accountable for results.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance

  • Collaborative mindset with a client-first approach

  • Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and excited to grow within a forward-thinking organization

Company Benefits

Our total rewards package is built around a competitive base salary, with benefits designed to support you and your family:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus HSA and FSA options with employer matching contributions

  • Pre-tax Dependent Care FSA, plus commuter benefits with employer matching contributions

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan

  • Flexible PTO program and company-paid holidays

  • Paid parental leave

  • Remote and hybrid work arrangement options [role dependent]

  • Discounted pet insurance and additional perks

  • PerkSpot employee discount program

  • SoFi financial wellbeing platform with 1:1 advice

  • Employee assistance program supporting mental and emotional wellbeing

  • Working with a diverse and culture forward team!

By the numbers:

We've funded over $110 billion in loans (more than any other fintech in the US!)

Raised over $1.2 billion in equity capital to modernize the $15 trillion mortgage industry

Better's proprietary AI platform, Tinman®, and voice-based AI mortgage assistant, Betsy™, make us an award-winning lender:
