Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's initiative to provide fast, affordable broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world through a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. As a Law Enforcement Response Specialist on the Amazon Leo Law Enforcement Response team, you will play a pivotal role in processing, evaluating, and responding to legal demands from law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in the United States and across the globe. You will be a trusted steward of customer data, a subject matter expert in legal process, and a key partner to law enforcement - all while upholding Amazon's commitment to customer privacy.
Key job responsibilities
* Review, authenticate, and process law enforcement requests - including subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and emergency requests - in accordance with applicable U.S. and international law
* Coordinate data collection and production in response to stored data requests and lawful intercept orders
* Serve as a point of contact for law enforcement agencies, providing timely and professional responses
* Identify and escalate deficient, ambiguous, or potentially fraudulent requests using established protocols and risk signals
* Support emergency request workflows, including 24/7 coverage rotations as needed
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives, documentation, and training materials for the global LER team
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Security, Regulatory Affairs, and Public Policy teams
* As a Custodian of Records, provide testimony at depositions and trials
* Create and conduct law enforcement training and outreach
* Occasional international travel is to be expected
Security Clearance - This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
A day in the life
Every day is both routine and different with each law enforcement interaction being unique. You will follow standards in reviewing and responding but need to do careful analysis to ensure full compliance. You will work closely with law enforcement, fellow LER members, and our Legal and Privacy teams routinely.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
- Experience working in fast paced environments, and managing workload even during times of stress, or escalated activity
- 3+ years of experience in law enforcement response, legal compliance, paralegal work, or a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. legal frameworks governing data disclosure (e.g., Stored Communications Act, ECPA, CALEA)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional proficiency in both Spanish and Portuguese
- Experience in a telecommunications, satellite, or internet service provider environment
- Familiarity with lawful intercept frameworks and real-time data request processes
- Demonstrated ability to optimize processes and drive improvements in a compliance or legal operations environment
- 4+ years of using case management system, reviewing cases, determining appropriate processes and policies that apply to a specific situation, and resolving a case or establishing/executing a case management plan experience, or Bachelor's degree

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
