Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking to hire a IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support to end users and ensures the reliable operation of IT systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for troubleshooting user issues, maintaining network connectivity, supporting workstation setup, and managing IT assets. The ideal candidate is responsive, detail-oriented, and capable of communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
Your essential job functions within User Support & Troubleshooting will include but may not be limited to:
  • Provide Tier I/II technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user account issues
  • Reset passwords and support identity/access management processes
  • Diagnose and resolve workstation, application, and connectivity problems

Your essential job functions within Network & Systems Support will include but may not be limited to:
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues including connectivity, switches, and routers
  • Support and monitor network devices and infrastructure for performance and availability
  • Assist with maintaining secure and reliable network operations

Your essential job functions within Workstation Setup & Maintenance will include but may not be limited to:
  • Set up, configure, and deploy desktops and peripheral devices
  • Install and update operating systems, applications, and security patches
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades

Your essential job functions within IT Asset Management will include but may not be limited to:
  • Track and manage IT equipment inventory (hardware and software)
  • Maintain accurate asset records and lifecycle documentation
  • Manage and maintain the IT asset management database, including tagging equipment and performing any necessary data entry

Your essential job functions within Customer Service & Communication will include but may not be limited to:
  • Provide professional, timely, and courteous support to all users
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and processes in ticketing systems
  • Develop and maintain user guides and standard operating procedures

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support or help desk environment
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems and common business applications
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired Requirements:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+)
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools
  • Familiarity with asset management systems
  • Experience supporting secure or regulated environments

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Clearance Requirements:
  • TS/SCI or the able to obtain one
