Job description

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) - Inventory Management business is transforming the grocery shopping experience through innovative retail formats. We are seeking an Instock Manager to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring customers find the products they want, when they want them. This role focuses on managing inventory availability and health across our grocery stores and fulfillment centers, partnering with vendors and internal teams to optimize the customer experience.
Amazon's grocery business has experienced remarkable growth, with groceries becoming some of our most frequently purchased items alongside everyday essentials like paper towels and household products. We've expanded same-day delivery for fresh groceries to over 2,300 U.S. cities, with perishable items like fruits and vegetables leading customer demand.
As an Instock Manager, you will be responsible for tactical execution of inventory strategies, working within defined frameworks to improve in-stock rates and reduce waste. You will analyze data to identify opportunities, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive operational improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to build foundational skills in inventory management while making a direct impact on customer satisfaction.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage inventory availability and health metrics to improve in-stock rates and optimize inventory planning.
- Perform business analysis to identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, and customer experience.
- Track purchase orders, investigate delivery delays, and resolve order issues with vendors and suppliers.
- Partner with internal teams on purchasing workflows, tools, and process improvements.
- Manage day-to-day operational relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure consistent product availability.
- Analyze data to identify root causes of inventory issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support forecasting activities by monitoring trends and providing input on demand patterns.
- Collaborate with category teams to understand product assortment and seasonal needs .
- Create reports and dashboards to communicate inventory performance to stakeholders.
- Escalate roadblocks and risks appropriately while learning best practices in supply chain management.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to fulfillment centers, stores, and vendor locations.
A day in the life
In your day-to-day role, you'll be responsible for the supply chain and inventory management for your assigned categories/sites. You'll continuously deliver results while creating new processes for improvement. You'll analyze data to optimize inventory levels, work with vendors on operational improvements, and partner with internal teams on automation initiatives. You'll also lead cross-functional initiatives that improve customer experience and enable new capabilities for our business, requiring you to pivot based on new challenges and learning.

We are expanding availability of perishable products across our network for both new and existing programs. Our team values problem-solving, analytical thinking, and supply chain understanding. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Experience in data analysis and problem solving
- Experience working cross-functionally and communicating with diverse stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using SQL to pull data and metrics to deliver reports
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain operations
- Experience in retail, grocery, or perishable goods industries
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QuickSight

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
