Job description

We are looking for a Sr. Art Director to join our Creative Operations team in New York City. This role sits at the intersection of creative leadership, brand strategy, and emerging technology - overseeing brand partnerships content while driving consistency and innovation across our creative output.
You will be a key creative leader within a global studio network spanning New York, London, and Barcelona, partnering closely with producers, technologists, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver world-class content at scale. This is a hybrid strategic and hands-on role that requires equal comfort setting creative vision and rolling up your sleeves to execute.
Key job responsibilities
1. Brand Partnerships Creative Leadership: Own the art direction for key brand partnerships content, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, brand alignment, and storytelling
2. Content Consistency & Innovation: Act as a creative authority and guardian of visual standards across campaigns and e-commerce - establishing and evolving style guides, templates, and quality benchmarks
3. Virtual Production & AI Workflows: Support the integration of virtual production techniques and AI-driven creative workflows into day-to-day content creation, collaborating with our Technical Director and AI & Hybrid Workflows Designer to push content boundaries
4. Strategic & Tactical Execution: Balance long-term creative strategy (roadmaps, capability development, trend forecasting) with tactical delivery (concepting, art direction, shoot oversight, post-production review)
5. External Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners, agencies, and external vendors - navigating ambiguity, aligning on creative vision, and managing expectations with professionalism and clarity
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Executive Producers, Studio Managers, and Design Technologists to ensure seamless creative execution across studios and workstreams
A day in the life
Your day moves between creative strategy and hands-on execution. You might start by aligning with brand partners on campaign direction, then head to set to oversee a shoot - checking that every project meets the creative bar. In between, you're evaluating AI and virtual production outputs, refining visual standards, and giving feedback to your team. You're equally comfortable presenting concepts to external stakeholders, navigating ambiguity, and making real-time creative calls. No two days look the same, but the throughline is always craft, innovation, and partnership.
About the team
éShop Creative Operations runs a global network of content studios producing photography, videography, and hybrid content for Amazon's fashion and lifestyle brands. Our studios in New York, London, and Barcelona are at the forefront of integrating AI, virtual production, and traditional craft to redefine how content is created at scale. We are a team of makers, technologists, and creative leaders who believe the future of content is being built right now.
