The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Food Service Employee at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Salary Range:

$26,646.85 - $32,500.00

Job Description:

Prepares, heats and finishes cooking food items and serves customers. Receives and disburses money in a food service establishment. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
  • Cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
  • Conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
  • Observes safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
  • Portions food or places it directly on plates for service to facility residents, employees or patrons and packages takeout foods
  • Prepares foods
  • Receives payment for food items
  • Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
  • Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • Takes customers' orders and serves customers
  • Unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products.

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Worker 2 (FFS011) or position equivalent.--Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
