Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Hire and develop top ASIC validation talent
• Manage SOC architecture, and validation (including bring-up, EVT, DVT and PVT) in leading silicon technologies, develop advanced digital compute and communications systems, incorporate IP from internal and external suppliers, and bring-up and test solutions based on your team's designs
• Work closely with software and communications systems teams
• Help develop appropriate validation processes, platforms and environment specific to your teams SOC solutions
• Learn about requirements and develop solutions for systems operating in space
• Assess future technologies, trends, and internal innovations to drive next generation solutions
A day in the life
This is a unique opportunity to define a groundbreaking solutions with few legacy constraints. The team will be responsible for designing and implementing aspects that are foundational to broadband communications systems, customer experience, key design criteria (like overall customer bandwidth, power consumption, and costs), and meeting systems requirements specifications for space and ground. This is an opportunity to develop and manage a world-class IC development team while being part of a team developing a full solution including satellites, highly efficiency communications solutions, and customer solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in silicon design and implementation
- 5+ years of management experience including
- 3+ years of managing managers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's / PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in development of broadband wireless (WiFi, 4G/5G, microwave backhaul, satellite, or similar systems) or networking system solutions
- Good analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Experience with embedded processing solutions including external memory systems
- Experience with high speed interconnect solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $187,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $324,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
