Job description

Truck Driver (CDL Class B)

Alpha Electric Supply is seeking a safe, dependable, and customer-focused CDL Class B Truck Driver to transport electrical materials and supplies to contractors, commercial job sites, industrial customers, and company locations throughout Oahu.

This position is responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a professional appearance, operating company vehicles safely, and serving as a key representative of Alpha Electric Supply in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial vehicles requiring a CDL Class B license in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Deliver electrical supplies, conduit, wire, lighting products, switchgear, and other electrical materials to customer job sites and company locations.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials to ensure safe transportation.
  • Verify delivery quantities and obtain customer signatures as required.
  • Maintain driver logs and records in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch and supervisors regarding delivery schedules and instructions.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water levels.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
  • Perform minor roadside emergency repairs when necessary.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and delivery procedures.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Report vehicle maintenance concerns, delivery issues, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during all deliveries.
  • Represent Alpha Electric Supply in a professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Hawaii Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B).
  • Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Previous delivery experience in electrical supply, construction materials, wholesale distribution, or related industries preferred.
  • Must provide a current driving abstract.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move electrical materials and products.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED preferred. Previous commercial driving, delivery, warehouse, or distribution experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull. The employee must be capable of loading and unloading electrical materials and products, which may require frequent lifting and moving of heavy items. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
