What are alpha males?

Alpha males are individuals, often men, who are perceived as leaders or dominant figures within a group. They are typically characterized by confidence, assertiveness, and strong social influence. The term is often used in social and evolutionary psychology to describe people who naturally take charge and are looked up to by others. While sometimes associated with positive leadership qualities, the concept can also be controversial as it may reinforce stereotypes about masculinity. In modern contexts, being an 'alpha male' is more about exhibiting confidence and positive leadership than aggression or dominance.
